WWE Money In the Bank PPV

Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to another edition of the Wrestling Spectator's WWE pay-per-view predictions! I apologize for the long hiatus, but the Wrestling Spectator is back, and in action! We have a couple of articles to be posted in the next couple of days, but let's get started with tonight's Money In the Bank Pay Per View!

WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

SETH ROLLINS/ROMAN REIGNS V. THE USOS

As Triple H is taking more and more control of the WWE as one of the big wigs, we have seen an attempt to slowly revive the tag team division. No more is the way of Kane/Daniel Bryan at the Tag Team Championship helm; the WWE has taken shape a number of new tag teams; Rhodes Scholars, Prime Time Players, Tons of Funk, 3MB, Colter's Militia, the Usos, and a branch of the Shield. Granted, it's not the tag team era of yester-year, but it is a clean start to focus on the tag team championship. TWS appreciates the re-focusing on the tag team division, and while it is a work in progress, it is a fresh start. Hopefully Triple H can take a few more teams from NXT and mold them into future tag team superstars.

The Usos have been a major focus in the tag team division, and creative has pushed for the Usos to look like a credible tag team in contention to the Shield. The Shield no longer has a commendable winning streak, having lost to Team Hell No/Randy Orton, and to Christian/The Usos. Rollins and Reigns, without the aide of Ambrose, as a tag team have not been pinned in their reign as champions, and the Usos have not individually pinned either of the tag champs. TWS cannot see the Usos taking the titles away from Rollins and Reigns. At least, not this time without help of some kind. The Shield has maintained an image of tenacity; the Usos are barely making an image with defeating the likes of 3MB and Tons of Funk. TWS believes that if the Usos are to be taken seriously, they should take out other credible tag teams to become legitimate champions.

TWS Prediction: The Shield Retains

CHRIS JERICHO V. RYBACK

This feud opened up with Chris Jericho doing what he does best, and that was antagonize the biggest and baddest mo'fo-er in the WWE.

Well, Ryback isn't the baddest any longer, but again, Jericho took the proverbial stick and picked a fight with the junkyard dog. "Cryback" became a new moniker under the eyes of Jericho, and he couldn't be more right on the money. Ryback hasn't won a PPV match in such a long time (going on exactly one year with his win at last year's MITB), and TWS believes that it could be his time. Why? A little foreshadowing, if you will. Creative has given Ryback something outside of SuperCena and WWE Pet Project The Shield to work with in a talent that has no issue with building stars. Over the last few months, Jericho himself lent a hand to Dolph Ziggler, CM Punk, Fandango, and others along the way, and I think that this will be the same token; Ryback needs another push, and Jericho has now been known to be such cannon fodder for the stars. Further, Jericho has an upcoming Fozzy tour, and what better way to "put Jericho on the shelf" by a brutal Ryback beat down?

Last week on RAW, Ryback was also involved with a farewell hug to former General Manager Vickie Guerrero. Vickie, a woman who can garnish a massive amount of heat, would be the perfect manager for Ryback. He won't have to speak, and the WWE Universe will hate him on the sheer fact that he has aligned himself with Guerrero. On top of having her as a heat-seeking manager, Ryback has developed feigning injury to the referees, a cowardly heel move. Genius.

Vickie will be a factor in MITB for Ryback, for sure, and even if she isn't around, TWS predicts the win will be handed to the Skip... er Ryback.

DIVA'S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

AJ LEE V. KAITLYN

Two best friends turned into two greatest enemies.

The element of a good feud is here. Both superstars were best friends at one point in time, and now ruthless enemies. One knows the strengths and weaknesses of the other, and the other knows what buttons to press and hurt. AJ has played an emotional game with Kaitlyn, and that's how a Diva does it. Women can be cunning, conniving, and flat out evil when they want to be, and AJ plays that part very well. She isn't an Amazon woman; she has Langston as her muscle. But she is playing the female cerebral assassin. And it is getting to the point where the entire Diva's division is getting involved in AJ's devastation. As much as the division has crumbled, I love the build-up. And all of the Divas can be brought into this, because of the outside exposure of E! Entertainment's "Total Divas". It's a solid plug for both the WWE, the Divas, and E! Entertainment.

I just wish that all of the other Divas could act a little better and put on a convincing show. Most of the WWE girls sound scripted.

Whatever is good for the goose, is good for the gander. AJ should be kept as the little engine that could, whether or not she is face or heel. Having the strap on her, and keeping it on her is a great idea, and it would also make for the WWE Power Couple of her and Dolph. However, Ziggler is slowly (and uncontrollably) turning face, and AJ is stuck being a heel. There may be some friction between the two. But at this point in time, AJ should go over Kaitlyn and show that bigger isn't always better, especially in the Diva's division.

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

THE MIZ V. CURTIS AXEL

It has been a compelling chase for the Intercontinental Championship for the past few months. A lot of the popular mid-card superstars have been beating each over the head with gold in their sights, and the IC title has landed on the waist of WWE's newest third generation superstar, Joe Hennig, also known as a portmanteau of his dad and grandfather, Curt Hennig and Larry "The Axe" Hennig; Curtis Axel. Aligned with the brilliant booking genius, Paul Heyman, Axel has nowhere to go but up. And Axel will be pushed to the stars, if given the right opportunities. He has recently been showing signs of weakness, being pinned by Chris Jericho and ultimately being made a fool of in recent matches, but winning at MITB will keep Axel solidly in place from here on out for quite some time.

The Miz has been on a winning streak ever since his in-ring return after a month hiatus, defeating Wade Barrett, Heath Slater, Fandango, and Cody Rhodes to name a few casulties. It would be difficult to say if The Miz has a chance to defeat the rookie Axel at MITB. With Heyman potentially losing CM Punk as his partner in crime, if Axel does indeed lose at MITB, Heyman's effectiveness to build stars will have ultimately gone away. Time will tell. TWS is torn between the sides of Axel/Miz, and with the heels predicting wins, this should be one that goes for the faces. Miz is on too much of a winning streak to have it fall flat on its face.

WHC CONTRACT MITB MATCH

BARRETT V. RHODES V. SANDOW V. AMBROSE V. FANDANGO V. SWAGGER V. CESARO

The mid-card all rolled into one. The main concept behind the Money in the Bank ladder match is to propel young up-and-comers into stardom. The concept is behind many PPV gimmicks, such as the Royal Rumble, King of the Ring, Survivor Series, and so on. Money in the Bank is no exception, and save for Jack Swagger, all other participants in this match have not seen major title opportunities. Swagger should not even been included in this match, but the WWE prefers repetition, so if Rhodes and Sandow are included, why not throw in another tag team and eliminate another match that doesn't draw. The MITB briefcase, as WWE commentary has mentioned time and time again, guarantees a title win. Statistically speaking, not one superstar has lost by pinfall or submission, but the only superstar ever to cash in and fail to take home gold was, ironically, John Cena by way of disqualification.

With the recent legal troubles that Swagger has gotten himself into, there should be zero interest in him taking the MITB briefcase. WWE gave him Colter as a mouthpiece and a WHC opportunity at Elimination Chamber, and failed by getting himself into drug troubles. TWS would be highly disappointed in seeing Swagger walk out as a briefcase holder.

Wade Barrett as the very beginning of his career as the Nexus leader showed a lot of promise, but was whittled down to no more than a mid-card faction leader of the Corre, and even more embarrassed by scraping on the mid-card bottom. WWE gave him an opportunity with the Intercontinental Championship, but he let that go as well. Barrett would be a great heavyweight champion, if he was coupled with a solid storyline to back him. However, Barrett doesn't seem likely to walk out a MITB winner.

Dean Ambrose is a favorite to walk out as the contract carrier, and it could happen with Rollins and Reigns getting involved in the chaos of the six-man ladder match. A win would make Ambrose the only man to walk in a champion and walk out a contract holder, and quite possibly be a dual-champion by the end of Sunday night.

Fandango, with his recent medical issues regarding concussions, lost his momentum going into MITB. With several losses to Jericho, TWS believes that Fandango let the A's breathe and his missed his footing from his winning debut at Wrestlemania. Baby steps, Fandango.

As a former Intercontinental Champion, Cody Rhodes may be able to do what his father and his older brother could never do, and that would be an opportunity to capture a contract for the World Heavyweight Championship with a win at MITB. As a second-generation superstar, Rhodes has a lot to live up to, and being as young as he is in his WWE career, he has surpassed many other superstars much older than him. A favorite to win... but not quite. Rhodes does have the experience, as this will be his fourth MITB ladder match, but he will have a break down from Sandow, and with multiple egos together in one ring, TWS believes it will be a tough obstacle for Rhodes to climb.

Damien Sandow has the looks, the charisma, and the pompous arrogance for his character to be a very convincing winner at MITB. Sandow is reminiscent of the debuting Hunter Hurst Helmsley, better known as Triple H, with the "blueblood" gimmick. Triple H himself had to start somewhere, and this is where Sandow seems to be at, and during the early HHH years, there was no Money in the Bank matches to propel stars quicker into the major title picture. TWS believes that winning MITB would give so much more to Sandow's character, and solify him as a serious contender in the WWE. Even though Sandow has been involved in one other MITB ladder match, Sandow is a TWS favorite.

Antonio Cesaro is the other TWS favorite to walk out MITB contract holder. New to the MITB match, Cesaro has shown to be a ruthless aggressor, and much more promising than Swagger in Colter's Militia. It is odd that Cesaro would join Colter as he was deep into his character as Swiss made, but with a MITB WHC winning opportunity, and Colter as a mouthpiece, Cesaro would, in TWS opinion, be the best candidate to have a chance to steal the WHC away.

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MITB MATCH

ORTON V. RVD V. CM PUNK V. BRYAN V. CHRISTIAN V. SHEAMUS

WWE has christened this the "WWE All-Star Match" for MITB. All former champions, clamoring for a spot at the top of the mountain; for the WWE Championship. The idea behind the two MITB matches is absolutely brilliant; the World Heavyweight Championship MITB match should go to mid-card talent. Wrestlers that are popular with the WWE Universe, or at least have taken a taste of the US Championship or Intercontinental Championship; and for the WWE Championship MITB should go to former major title holders. Viewers may be against seeing old faces in the WWE title picture, but granted, John Cena is one of the most routine faces the WWE Universe sees every day. "The Champ Is Here" is getting stale. Some aren't even WWE Title holders. ROb Van Dam, Christian, and Daniel Bryan have not had the WWE Championship around their waist. But TWS believes that this will change.

As it stands, the wrestling dirt sheets all have heard rumors that Daniel Bryan will start a feud with John Cena in the next couple of months. Whether Cena retains the title tonight determines the outcome of the MITB All Stars Match. Or vice-versa (as this will be contested before Cena's match with Henry). This is a high improbability, seeing as though if Cena loses, he will undoubtedly invoke his rematch clause, and the Bryan/Cena match is nixed. We would have enjoyed RVD to win his return match, but TWS has a feeling that CM Punk will have a nice new feud with another Paul Heyman guy. Orton will most likely have some time off to handle his real-life personal problems, and Christian and Sheamus will be lost in the upper mid-card shuffle.

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

ALBERTO DEL RIO V. DOLPH ZIGGLER

These two have had such a heated rivalry ever since Dolph lost the WHC championship to Del Rio at WWE Payback. With a double alignment turn with Del Rio becoming heel, and Ziggler turning face, Ziggler has shown a tenacious "never say die" attitude and keeps fighting for the sake of getting the WHC back around his waist. TWS considers the scenario between Ziggler and AJ Lee/Langston interesting as AJ has went off on her own tangent, as well as Ziggler, and AJ Lee has kept the heel persona. If Dolph wins the WHC, how will the chemistry work between these three? A WWE Power Couple that serves as both face/heel?

In any event, Ziggler has been a fan favorite, and looking into the WHC MITB ladder match, all participants are heels. It wouldn't be smart business per Vinnie Mac to have a heel vs. heel championship match, so TWS goes to support Ziggler in his win tonight.

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

JOHN CENA V. MARK HENRY

When Mark Henry made his "fake" retirement speech, and hit Cena with the World's Strongest Slam, the delivery was absolutely epic. And this is the type of storyline that creative should go with to make characters convincing. Henry came from the era where storylines meant something, and they built characters into believable indivduals that a viewer could get behind and rally upon. "Yeah! I want to see Mark Henry win!" or "Kurt Angle had trouble with his gold medals! Let's see him win in Pittsburg!" Today's product is a re-hash and is watered down from what the older fans are used to. And Cena is an unbelievable workhorse; but take the strap off of him once in a great while. I wouldn't mind seeing Mark Henry run with the WWE Championship for a few months, as I believe The World's Strongest Man can be a great champion. Get Teddy Long, Michael Hayes, Tony Atlas, even the Prime Time Players (with Teddy? Thuggin' and Buggin'!) would make a great stable to connect Mark Henry with. When was the last time the WWE had a convincing African-American stable? Including a world champion?

Alas, as McMahon said a few weeks ago, whatever is good for business... And Mark Henry hasn't been good for business. Cena will ultimately win, and will go on to feud with Daniel Bryan for the next six months or so until Bryan loses clean while cashing in. What a waste of an exiting talent.

Extreme Rules 2013 Predictions

Hello Wrestling Spectator Fans! I know it has been awhile since I have last blogged on the wonderful world of wrestling, but trivial personal matters did hinder my writing flow, but now, like The Miz, I am back and here to write about what is slated less than a week away; Extreme Rules. There has been much build-up over the past couple of weeks, in and out of the squared circle for Extreme Rules, and it doesn't look to be a bad card. However, I am highly hoping that this PPV ends quite a bit of feuds between several superstars, and allows them to move forward from here on out. My predictions this time around are a little more biased, as there is quite a bit of uncertainty with a lot of these competitors.

With that said, let's take a look at this Sunday's lineup and match breakdowns.

YouTube Exclusive Preshow Match

The Miz vs. Cody Rhodes

With the YouTube Preshow jump-starting the Extreme Rules PPV, I really like this match to get the ball rolling. Both The Miz and Cody Rhodes are very impressive, in my mind, and continue to be the future of the WWE. It's a shame to see this match-up between two high-caliber superstars on YouTube and not on the actual show. But, it is better to see them than Brodus Clay and Sweet T on the card at any point. 

My prediction is that The Miz takes a win, and with an amazing match-up. Cody Rhodes will put up a great fight, but as the Miz himself said on RAW, "I'm Back!" And I don't consider anything less from him, and I expect to see him back in the title picture real soon, even contending against Rhodes for it. 

Speaking of... where is Wade Barrett? Get that IC Title off of him and put it on one of these guys!! 

Tornado Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship

Team Hell No (c) vs. The Shield's Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns

Everyone knew this was in the works. With Team Hell No feuding with The Shield since their inception and their dominating streak versus the odd pairing, The Shield takes part in Kane's challenge for the Tag Team Championships here at Extreme Rules. Instead of the typical tag stipulations, all four members will be in the ring, and it takes just one pinfall for the champs to lose the titles. And I believe it is time for the Shield to reign supreme and to hold the belts for as long as they can. Granted they are short one member in the match, but who is to say that Ambrose will accompany his partners and cause a ruckus. If, however, Team Hell No pulls off a victory, it won't be clean; I expect a disqualification of some sort IF and only if Kane and Bryan retain gold.

Looking back at last year's Extreme Rules, both Kane and Daniel Bryan were split in singles matches, to which they both took a crippling loss to Randy Orton and Sheamus, respectively. I don't think there will be anything different in Sunday's match-up, as nobody has legitimately toppled off the Shield, ever.

WINNER: The Shield as NEW WWE Tag Team Champions

WWE United States Championship

Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Dean Ambrose

A new opponent for Kofi!! I'm excited for this match-up, just for the simple fact that Kofi isn't taking on Wade Barrett, or Antonio Cesaro, or another mid-carder that the title can slingshot back and forth from. I am torn with another potential win for the Shield. With all three members holding titles, the Shield would be the most dominant stable since possibly D-Generation X, save for possible discussion. I want to lean toward a Kofi win, but I just don't think that Kofi can draw enough to be a credible title holder.

It's interesting to note that neither Kofi or Ambrose (or any member of the Shield being so new) were on the Extreme Rules card.

WINNER: Kofi Kingston to retain.

Chris Jericho vs. Fandango

Jericho puts up or shuts up against Faaaaaahn-Daaaaaahn-Goooohhhh (even Fandango is getting tired of it, I can see) in a Wrestlemania XXIX rematch. The always-entertaining Jericho does wonders for this feud, and continues to make Johnny Curtis look like a legitimate WWE superstar, and this is what Jericho has and continues to do for rising talent. He's done it all in the business, and to pass the torch should be the norm for superstars of Jericho's caliber. Superstars of Jericho's generation seem to have a tough time jobbing to newer faces in the WWE, but I am thrilled to see him make a name for himself by being the guy to beat. "To be the man..." comes to mind; Jericho IS the man, and with top-tier matches with stars like Bryan and Curtis (even his recent match with Ryback was well-received), he is doing what he needs to do and keep his band Fozzy up and running. He does what he does to make his fans happy, and whether he wins or loses, Jericho puts on a great match with great in-ring chemistry with anyone he goes toe to toe with.

Fandango, on the other hand, performs a great heel character, and plays off Jericho and his outside adventures quite well. Johnny Curtis, as Fandango, can and will develop into a great heel, if he plays his cards right. I don't think the dancing gimmick will last for very long, but an eccentric egotistical playboy may work in his favor. Who knows?

Taking a look back at last years' Extreme Rules, Jericho was involved in the WWE Championship match against CM Punk in a Chicago Street Fight. Punk walked away the winner, and I believe this time around, Jericho will do the same to invoke a rubber match to end all this dancing shenanigans at the next PPV. Again, I may be a bit biased here, as I have been a Jericholic since the days of Y2J.

WINNER: Chris Jericho

Extreme Rules Match

Randy Orton vs. The Big Show

Why don't we call this a Hardcore match and call it a day? I can understand why Orton is facing Big Show because of the Wrestlemania fiasco, but I haven't seen much interaction between these two. Orton is usually facing some mid-carder, to which Orton is much more skilled to do so, and there is no altercation without Big Show being a little girl about things, coming and then going as quick as he does. Wrestling 101; Big Show should be involved heavily in Orton's matches, or at least make to where Orton loses each and every one. I understand that the WWE needs to make Orton look strong going into Extreme Rules, but do so in a powerful match in the go-home show, and make that statement; "I won't back down!"

Both gentlemen were involved in last years' pay-per-view. One walked out the winner, and the other lost gold. Orton pulled off an impressive win over the Big Red Machine Kane last year, whereas Big Show "took a step" in the wrong direction and put himself through a table trying to regain his balance and lost the Intercontinental Championship to Cody Rhodes. I consider that a lousy finish, but it was in the rulebook, and the ruling stood. Being in St. Louis, I'd be hard pressed to see babyface Orton lose in his hometown. But I feel that there may be more to Orton's win tonight.

WINNER: Randy Orton

Strap Match

Sheamus vs. Mark Henry

Bring on the Hall of Pain! Week after week of being absolutely humiliated and taken advantage of by Sheamus, I highly believe that Mark Henry will take the strap and whip the living bejeebus out of the Irish Warrior. This time, it'll be fair, Mark Henry won't need to show off with his theatrics of being the "World's Strongest Man" and take Sheamus to the cleaners. This is also cemented in the fact that Sheamus is too carefree when it comes to such a big guy like Henry, and Henry himself should not be taken lightly. I believe that Henry will take the victory here, but with a little bit of a struggle.

Extreme Rules 2012 had Sheamus retain the World Heavyweight Championship against little Daniel Bryan in a Two out of Three Falls Match, winning 2-1. This match came about on Bryan's rematch clause after losing the World title within 18 seconds to a lightning-quick Brogue Kick.

WINNER: Mark Henry

Steel Cage Match

Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... for Brock Lesnar to regain any sort of credibility, he MUST go over Triple H, and he needs to go over him clean. Rumors are swirling in the IWC that the reason behind the cage match is to where either competitor does not need to be pinned or tap out to a submission. If Brock does win without a pinfall/submission, I'd consider that a cheap way to protect WWE's Corporate Son, and I see that as another way to continue the feud, as "I was never pinned" or what-have-you. Paul Heyman would use that to his advantage day in and day out; "You never pinned my client, Triple H!!" Unless, Wrestler A dismantles Wrestler B so horridly, that they walk out the cage with attitude. But in typical WWE fashion, this won't happen. While I wish that this weren't the case, Triple H will most likely go over in the match "for retribution and revenge."

Lesnar was featured in last years' Extreme Rules against John Cena in his return match since 2004. Lesnar took an Attitude Adjustment on the steel steps to be put away for a couple of months. With the sporadic appearances, it's not working for him. Lesnar should be more of a mainstay, and be an unstoppable force.

WINNER: Triple H

Number 1 Contender for the World Heavvweight Championship "I Quit" Match

Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger

This match screams ADR all over it. And I couldn't agree more. Heel champion Ziggler, Face challenger Del Rio... disgruntled side-man Coulter, er Swagger; what more can a championship match ask for? Personally, I loved the idea of a Triple Threat Match here at Extreme Rules, but with Swagger poorly executing his wrestling skills on Dolph, it put the champion out of commission for a while. And honestly, I would have STILL maintained a Triple Threat Match and put Langston in to "retain" the integrity of the champion, and make it that much more tougher on the challengers. But, once again, I am not WWE Creative, and I don't call the shots. If Vince reads this, I'm looking for an opportunity!

Back to my original statements here. Alberto Del Rio needs to go back after his title. Getting it back in his hands is another story. I would like to see Ziggler go on and retain the World Heavyweight Championship for quite some time, as I believe that he's a fresh champion, and if he can stay away from injury, he will be a fan favorite.

As Alberto Del Rio was not on ER2012 last year, out with an injury, Swagger was. However, Swagger was Ziggler's own lackey at the time on the lower end of the card. Funny how things wind themselves together one year later.

WINNER: Swagger says I Quit. 

Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship

John Cena (c) vs. Ryback

Michael Cole said it best; John Cena has gone 4-0 at Extreme Rules. Cole, however, is completely inaccurate with pay-per-views about this time and John Cena's streak. Going back even further, Cena has been 7-0 with chronological order at an "Extreme Rules" type of event.

Does Cena continue the streak? Or does Ryback smash it into oblivion? I'm honestly surprised that the WWE hasn't marketed Cena to be "extreme" with seven consecutive wins in this case, but I don't think that the WWE is even aware, or pays attention of what ECW used to be about. But a win is a win. And Cena has seven of them.

With Cena's kryptonite ankle injury, it will be a main focus on what Ryback will try and dismantle the WWE Champion with. And as Ryback has said, he is the biggest threat to Cena's gold. Hard to argue, considering that Cena could not legitimately put away Batista in 2010 in the same type of match. And Batista himself is in the same category with big men as Ryback is, and in comparison, Ryback seems to be a little more focused, and much more aggressive. And with the Shield looming close by as a wild card, I'm going with Ryback in this one. I've seen Cena downed by Alberto Del Rio and Edge in Last Man Standing matches. It's a possibility that Ryback walks away a winner.

We're on the final turn to Wrestlemania

It is the final stretch until Wrestlemania 29 at Met Life Stadium. The go-home to RAW was excellently executed, and Smackdown should sweep up the remaining pieces into Sunday. However, this is where I will bring to action my predictions for April 7. Let's begin.

The Miz VS Wade Barrett

Going into the build and hype of this match, it has been absolutely horrid to see The Miz on where he is on a Wrestlemania card. As I have said before, Miz should be higher than that based upon his own work ethic in the WWE. Mind you, I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, or if he has to sacrifice for something bigger, but pre-shows are meant for talent like Brodus Clay or Zack Ryder. Antonio Cesaro should be the caliber of opponent that Miz faces off against at this caliber of an event.

Whatever happened to Bo Dallas?

In any rate, I haven't witnessed much success with challengers defeating champions on pre-shows, but I am hoping Miz pulls off the upset and steals this one. But without the presence of Ric Flair (all condolences set aside), my gut tells me Wade Barrett keeps the title, most likely by disqualification, as the WWE most likely won't allow the Miz to look weak in this.

Brodus Clay/Tensai/Cameron/Naomi VS Cody Rhodes/Damien Sandow/The Bellas

"Oh, you were not aware?" That was the best parody of Road Dogg by these two...

This is another disappointment mash up for Wrestlemania. All eight of these participants, in the storylines and direction WWE Creative is taking them, should not be on the card. I understand it is solely meant for comedic effect for the kiddies, and have the Bellas look important, but this is WRESTLEMANIA. They should devote a "halftime" show for such a mid-card atrocity.

Enough bashing here. Rhodes Scholars should be in contention with the Tag Team Championships. I like the way that Ziggler and Langston have been built into the tag team title picture solely because of AJ and her previous alliance with Kane and Daniel Bryan, as it has become a personal vendetta. But whatever happened to  championship contenders and the ranking system? Can I walk into the WWE with a buddy of mine, anger the Big Red Machine, and be challenged with the titles on the line as there is not a contender team for them? This has been one of my beliefs about the Tag division, and why it has suffered.

All in all, I don't like this match. It's a waste of space. But, my prediction is that the faces will win this one and walk away victorious.

WINNER: Brodus Clay, Sweet T, and the Funkadactyls 

Fandango VS Chris Jericho

I like the build up for this one, and it makes for Fandango's debut in the WWE, on the Grandest Stage of them All. Who else can say outside of a handful of wrestlers to actually make a debut at a Wrestlemania? Well, I think Big E Langston gets to share the opportunity. Fandango has shown a lot of tenacity against Jericho, and continues to do so. I'm looking forward to seeing this match, and who walks away from it. Chris Jericho has done it all, and continues to come back and work as hard as he does, and put over the younger talent. I think that Jericho, as a business man, will help out Fandango and give him his first debuting win at Wrestlemania to put him over as a top guy. Vince loves the gimmick, and Jericho, being a part timer, will pass the torch.

Ryback VS Mark Henry

Concept on paper; brilliant. Creative making it work; falls flat.

Two big monsters colliding against one another at Wrestlemania. Hasn't happened in a long time where two massive behemoths butt heads and go at it with such force. Mark Henry versus Ryback could have been bigger than half of the card at Wrestlemania, if built up the right way. And, don't get me wrong; I'm more than happy to see Ryback away from the Shield and having him lose time and time again, but Creative just dropped the ball when it came to building these two silverbacks up for a monumental storyline. A "No Contact" rule? WTF? These men are designed and wired for contact, and with that stipulation in place, it takes out all the fun that these two men could do with each other. Beat each other down, beat others down, and just run over half of the locker room in the process to one up the other. So much potential!

Alas, Creative hasn't been the best of friends for the hardcore fan. Hasn't been for the longest time. The undercard is a mockery and a disgrace to Wrestlemania's past, but I'm not watching solely for Sweet T's sweet ass to dance all over the place (and I am being facetious here), but nonetheless, I hope that this rivalry isn't over at Wrestlemania, and it pours out into Extreme Rules. Ryback does need the win here after several painful losses from the Shield.

WINNER: Ryback

Sheamus/Orton/Big Show (The SOB Squad) VS The Shield

This match-up will be the fourth big clash for the Shield, and it is just making the Shield look more and more unstoppable. However, with the addition of the Big Show, the Shield has shown a bit of hesitation to get in the ring with the giant, and making them look human. A little dangerous to their credibility, so to speak, but it could also show that the Shield is a bit more cunning and work a little harder and at a different angle. As the WWE has thrown more meat for the Shield to take out, I like it, just for the Shield's sake. Keeping the winning streak alive is what the WWE should have done with the original Nexus, instead of just burying them, splitting them off, and giving each member a shovel to dig themselves out of a grave. Only three members have seen relative success (Bryan, Barrett, and Ryback after a repackage), and it was an absolute shame. It just goes to show that there can exist a faction in today's WWE that will work as a destructive force, and a young blood faction at that. Seems as though the top guys can work together, and take them out. Continue the momentum united and don't break the Shield.

On the other side, Sheamus, Orton, and Big Show are such a mismatched pair in this. It's hard to say how or even if these three can work together in this match. Over the past few months, all three of these men were at each other's throats, fighting for the World Heavyweight Championship, and that will be a partial deciding factor in a potential heel turn.  It'll be a big surprise to me if they work well, but ultimately, something big is going to happen, in the favor for the Shield. I'm looking at Orton.

The win has The Shield written all over it.

WINNER: The Shield

WWE Tag Championship Match
Team Hell No VS Team Zig E

Personal vendettas with little AJ in the mix. This is a lingering feud that, although Dolph hasn't been too much a part of, AJ has had with quite a few superstars in the past year. She is a distraction for both Kane and Daniel Bryan, and her insertion makes things a bit more interesting. I am also looking forward to seeing how Langston makes his debut, and how much of a powerhouse he really is. He's a big guy, especially in person, and it is interesting to see the transition in power with Triple H in charge and bringing in a lot of bigger guys. Needless to say, it is Big E's in-ring debut, and he has been a wall of trouble when it comes to facing Ziggler with anything. Ultimately, everyone knows that Langston dips his hand in the cookie jar and gets a piece of any wrestler Ziggler faces. With AJ and Big E, along with Ziggler's own repitoire of skills, Kane and Bryan have their hands full. Even though Langston is inside the squared circle, Team Hell No needs to keep their eyes peeled.

With my prediction here, it's tough to call. More elements means a tougher prediction. And with the possibility of winning tag team gold AND cashing in the Money in the Bank, it would boost Ziggler up to stratospheric heights as a double champion. I say Kane and Daniel Bryan are stale at this point in time... it's time to transition to the Ziggler Era.

CM Punk VS The Undertaker and the Streak

Since Elimination Chamber, it was rumored that CM Punk would be on a collision course with the Undertaker and his streak at Wrestlemania. And ever since Taker's return, CM Punk (along with the exceptionally talented Paul Heyman) has made the untimely death of William Moody as epic and as relevant as ever. Some of you may hate me for it, but the WWE would have the utmost respect for the Moody family and would not do it if it weren't allowed. This is the same reason why Randy Savage isn't in the WWE Hall Of Fame; his family wants him inducted with his brother, so they leave it be. Same with Bruno Sammartino. Some points may have been taken a little far, but hopefully everyone understands that what was in the urn was sand. Would you be offended if rocks fell out of the urn? No, because then the internet troll would come out and claim, "OMG IT'S FAKE BCUZ OF ROKS N STUF!" Stop it.

Going back to my original point, CM Punk with Heyman, as I have made mention of before, is absolute gold. Heyman has influenced this with CM Punk to sheer glory. Around this time of year for twenty years, it is the Undertaker getting into the head of his opponents. This is the first time (outside of DDP and the use of Taker's wife) that Taker's opponent is getting inside his head. And it's working (storyline standpoint, anyway). It's building for some good TV, and I am itching to see this one. It won't be as spectacular as Triple H and Shawn Michaels vs the Dead Man, but it will be more calculated... how far will CM Punk go to get inside the Undertaker's mind? How much mental damage can Punk do to Taker, to completely take him off of his game and beat him, not by sheer force and punishment, but on a technicality? If (and that's a big "if") CM Punk does take the win and beats the streak, it will be a technical win. And I believe that CM Punk is the right guy for the rub. Not Cena. I hear rumors that Cena faces Taker next year. I hope to the heavens above that doesn't happen.

My prediction stands that the streak lives on, 21-0.

WINNER: The Undertaker

No Holds Barred; Career Match
Brock Lesnar VS Triple H w/Shawn Michaels

Another bout that I'm highly interested in seeing go down. I have a strong feeling on who is going to walk out of Wrestlemania as all the signs point otherwise.

With Brock Lesnar returning for a whole two years, this match isn't going to go down the proverbial toilet. And with Heyman sticking around for a while now and Triple H going out, I'd be hard pressed to see Brock lose this match. But again, the storytelling is there and it is all Wrestling 101, and all the players (well, Heyman and Triple H anyway) bring everything to the table. Both Heyman and Triple H are using what was great in ECW, WCW, and the Attitude era days, and what was originally popular; controversy. Personal issues. Who doesn't want to see someone's personal life be afforded in a man's soap opera? Look at Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle with Karen Angle in the mix? That was good television. Who knew? Now, Heyman has made it personal with Triple H by using Brock Lesnar as his personal wrecking ball, taking out Vince, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, maybe even Shawn Michaels before Wrestlemania, who knows? And the hidden stipulation that Triple H agreed on just to get his hands on Brock for his recklessness was priceless. The whole "no holds barred" was kind of mundane, but the execution was flawless. Heyman and Brock again have turned the tide against Triple H (like CM Punk with Undertaker) by being the game, and having Triple H play with their rules. Heyman thinking. The execution is excellent, and it draws me in.

With the layout and the finish, I feel as though Shawn Michaels will get involved against Triple H. Not positive, but there is some kayfabe resentment between the two. Otherwise, Brock will finish this clean, Triple H will go back into the shadows as Paul Levesque (or even a GM role... that would be interesting to see), and Brock continues to lay waste to the WWE.

World Heavyweight Championship Match
Alberto Del Rio VS Jack Swagger

I'm not too fond to see this match take place. I'm not captivated enough by Swagger to fully immerse myself into the storyline. ADR does wonders since his debut in the WWE, but his opponent is not matched with him the correct way, in my opinion. I've been saying this for months now; Swagger should be a tweener face going head to head against Antonio Cesaro (who is ABSENT from this card). Swagger should not be at the caliber of match on this card, because of his own character, and his own personal troubles. Creative is high on this gimmick with Zeb Colter, and with a possible suspension looming for Swagger after Wrestlemania, I don't see too much effort outside of Wrestlemania. I love the promos that Colter cuts, and his mic works wonders for a one phrase Swagger. I think, if booked right, Swagger and Colter could dominate the mid card division and THEN be tossed in the WWE major title spotlight. Give him the US Title, as I have been saying, and then place the WWE Title strap on him. He can be the next WWE champion, but he needs time.

With the match, Alberto Del Rio has come a long way as a face. He hasn't fine tuned it yet, but he shows compassion to his personal ring announcer, he stands up for justice, and has a comedy act of his own. I know how Creative is booking him; a Fancy Feast Eddie Guerrero. To pay homage to the late, great Eddie would be very smart, and it would gather a lot of latino viewers. Chavo Guerrero was attempting to play the part, but he lived in his uncle's shadow for years. ADR is a fresh face, fresh move set, and all around newcomer. He isn't Eddie, like Chavo tried to portray. He is his own character. I like ADR, and I like his chances at Wrestlemania. I feel that there are a couple of elements in this; with the connection with a possible heel turn from Orton will bring him back into the WHC title picture, and the upcoming suspension for Swagger, Del Rio survives and walks out retaining.

WWE Championship Match
The Rock VS John Cena

Redemption is in order. John Cena has been stating this for an entire year, as the storyline has been all about using Cena's personal life as fuel to the fire between himself and the Rock. And anyone who is anyone is expecting Cena to turn heel at Wrestlemania, or very soon afterward. The Rock has also been claiming that he "will" beat Cena again. But this match-up and the result has already been set in stone; Cena will walk out of Wrestlemania with the WWE title. It's unfortunate.

"WWE has been discussing the idea of having Ryback feud with John Cena for the WWE Title after WrestleMania 29. The seeds for this potential feud were planted back when Cena eliminated Ryback from the Royal Rumble match."

Granted, this is a dirt sheet, and dirt sheets change all the time, but all signs point to Cena winning. It's a damn shame, because outside of the girls and the little boys, EVERYONE wants this heel turn to happen. Have Cena lose AGAIN to the Rock. Then have him turn heel because of his inability to beat "one of the greatest of all time". It's been over nine years since we've seen a heel Cena, and that was rapper Cena. It's long overdue. The fans want it, and for Christ's sake, stop postponing it. Or just give the opportunity to Ziggler and run with it; he's still got the briefcase.

I hate to say it, and I'm pretty sure that nobody wants a thirteenth title reign, but it will be another Cena era.

WINNER: John Cena

There you have it, folks! A breakdown on this spectators' opinion on who's who with predictions for Wrestlemania. Hopefully there is a small addition of Cesaro placed on the card, to which Wrestlemania desperately needs, and even more so, something spectacular. Make it happen, WWE! I want an OMG moment!!

Elimination Chamber Year to Year Comparison

As Elimination Chamber comes to our screens tomorrow in New Orleans and is the last PPV to showcase the last of what is to come on the Road to Wrestlemania, where were the current EC participants last year, and how far have they come up this year to this Sunday? Let's take a look and do a comparison, shall we?

Kaitlyn and Tamina

Coincidentally, Tamina was also in the Elimination Chamber last year, doing the same this she's doing this year--fighting for the Diva's Championship. But she takes on a new face from last year in the challenge of Kaitlyn. Beth Phoenix was the Diva's Champion last year, and aptly suited as the girl on top (no pun intended). My prediction still stands, as Tamina has had a whole year to work on her character and make something of herself, and I doubt this will be her opportunity to claim gold like her father. As with the division itself, I haven't seen any development for her character over the past year, and if an entire year brings her back to the same spot, what would be the point to continue such a "build" of a Diva? Granted, she has been pulling wins left and right as of late, but I don't think she'll pull a win from the champion.

Kaitlyn, on the other hand, was nowhere on the card for Elimination Chamber 2012, or even the main roster for that matter. Kaitlyn was buried within the NXT/FCW training grounds as part of the Chickbusters. Within a year's time, Kaitlyn has come up from NXT and made something of herself as Diva's Champion, being the focal point to replace the outgoing Eve. Kudos to Kaitlyn for working hard this year and catching WWE Creative's eye.

Antonio Cesaro and The Miz

The Miz finds himself back in the Elimination Chamber PPV, but unfortunately not as a main competitor in the Chamber itself. This is a step down for The Miz as he isn't an active part of the major championship chase, but he does save face by at least going for a mid-card title. Again, The Miz is a former World Champion, but my prediction stays, as with storylines in general, Jack Swagger should be the guy to take the US Championship. I would like more than anything for Miz to be US Champion again, but this feud should continue as it is a strong combination until Swagger comes into play for some reason.

Cesaro is another superstar that has made major leaps-and-bounds while being in the WWE for a short time, less than a year on the main roster. Cesaro was still in FCW working with Alex Riley when the Elimination Chamber PPV was in town. Antonio Cesaro, again with less than a year under his belt, became US Champion within months of his debut, and has not looked back. A great superstar with exceptional talent in the ring and on the mic. Another reason why I believe that the US title should stay in Cesaro's grasp, and keep the USA booing the Swiss champion for a little longer.

The Shield, John Cena, Ryback, and Sheamus

Yet another group of gentlemen making an impact on the WWE within a short amount of time from NXT, The Shield, in my opinion, has made a tremendous impact and has rocked the WWE to its core, in as little time as possible. So much, in fact, that Vince has dispatched his toughest superstars to try and take out this contending force. The Shield, if used correctly, and I say this with watching so much of success and failures throughout the years, can continue to be a force to dominate the WWE. Play The Shield like the nWo. However, unlike the nWo, The Shield aren't portrayed like "juvenile buddies" and are veterans of their craft. They are focused, and will take out any target with precision and efficiency. The Shield, ever since their debut (as I can't go back into last year's EC), have impressed me to the fullest, and I plead to the WWE to allow this trio to make even more of an impact in the future.

Then, you can add two of the next set of three gentlemen to the MIA list for EC 2012. John Cena was the only superstar in this match up of six wrestlers to make an appearance at last year's PPV, and it was in a gimmick match versus Kane. Obviously, Cena did not have much to do and couldn't get involved into a major title feud with a major superstar going into Wrestlemania 28 against the Rock, as this was a filler match to occupy his time. This is a much higher-profile match Cena is in, so I anticipate much more action... from Sheamus and Ryback. With an even more of a planned-since-last-Wrestlemania match with the Rock, John Cena most likely will not wrestle too much in this match, and with the rumor of this match being in the Elimination Chamber (tweeted from Mr. Ryback himself and subsequently removed), Cena won't take too much of a bump to save himself and keep himself fresh for the Rock's win in Wrestlemania. Outside of Cena, Ryback was on the shelf with an injury, so with him already repackaged from cornbread eatin' Skip Sheffield and given a push to the heavens, this is a plus for Ryback on all avenues. With Vince McMahon very high on Ryback (along with any other steroid filled star), I see nothing but career-enhancing things for this star. Notice I said, "career enhancing", not potential wins. Sheamus, being last years Royal Rumble winner, was already slated in the cards to pick on Daniel Bryan and his grasp on the World Heavyweight Championship, so he wasn't on the card. Made an appearance and rattled the hamster in Bryan's head with a Celtic Cross (and going on to defeat him in a record eighteen seconds at Wrestlemania). Sheamus, I will give a step down, because as he is stuck in-between feuds now, he was a favorite and in the title picture last year. This isn't too much of a plus for him, because he could be destined for greater at this time, or just not one of Cena's bodyguards.

The Big Show and Alberto Del Rio

Sidelined with a groin injury, Alberto Del Rio was not on the card recovering at last year's Elimination Chamber, but he did happen to make an appearance to support Johnny "Ace" Lauranitis and his "People Power" gimmick. Great heel boss, by the way. But as the current World Heavyweight Champion, this build up to the Elimination Chamber has done wonders for ADR, and he tells an awesome storyline. Ricardo Rodriguez is such a tool for the champ, which even makes Alberto's face turn more conflicting and funnier to watch. Again, with my predictions steadfast, I see Del Rio pulling off a win with his trusty comedy act of Ricardo and "stealing" a win this time via Eddie Guerrero style! Viva la Raza!

Big Show finds himself again in a contender's match for the World Heavyweight Championship, but at least he isn't surrounded by five other superstars, glass, or chains. I want to say that Big Show doesn't go up nor down "in general", but considering that there are no obstacles, no chains, no glass, no steel, no competition, and no disqualifications, this should seem as a match where Big Show can lay back and relax. My opinion brings that just a slight notch down from last year. It's not a high-profile match that says "Wow" to me, and I don't see it furthering Big Show's career. The previous articles have applauded the newcomers for going so far, but at this rate, Big Show has done nearly everything he needs to do in the WWE. Big Show has had his Wrestlemania moments. Let ADR have the win, and move on with life.

Randy Orton and Mark Henry

Both of these individuals were put out on the shelf when the Elimination Chamber came into town last year, so they hadn't an opportunity to run for the title. Daniel Bryan himself smashed the WHC over Orton's head, allowing Orton to step out of the WWE's schedule and make some movies, apparently. Henry has suffered a hyper-extended knee injury and was out for nearly a year because of surgery and rehabilitation. Orton himself was actually slated to be in the Chamber match, but outside endeavors would keep him from continuing a storyline on the Road to Wrestlemania. Being in this match up for both men is a step up, as they were unable to compete for the World title , and they get an opportunity to do so now. Mark Henry, even with his debut inside of the Elimination Chamber, I feel will do better in this match than Orton will, as Orton has taken a downward slide with hits and misses with matches, but the Elimination Chamber changes men; they don't exit the same as when they enter.

Jack Swagger

This will be Swagger's debut inside the massive steel structure, but his second time at EC. Last year, he successfully defended the United States Championship against Justin Gabriel. This is another reason why I believe that the US Championship belongs on the waist of Swagger. He embodies the US Championship, and needs to take it away from Cesaro. But that is another story for another day. With the jump to a number one contender spot, but with no title as with last year, Swagger doesn't move up or down in this exchange. Now... what happens afterward will affect his place in the WWE. With only one other cage match under his belt, this will be a test for the All-American American to see how long he can last inside the Chamber. I highly doubt that Swagger will walk away with the #1 contender spot.

Daniel Bryan and Kane

Daniel Bryan entered into the Chamber last year as World Heavyweight Champion and walked out just the same. Yet his last elimination was Santino Marella, of all superstars. If I had been writing this last year, I would have been giving major kudos to Santino for moving away from the comedy and into a match-up of this caliber. Just on the match-up alone. But I wasn't and now I am writing about the present. Bryan walks in as the comedy act this time around, with a sizzling feud with his own tag team partner-and-champion Kane. This is a huge step down for Bryan, going through a losing match that was about eight seconds at Wrestlemania, then a ridiculous feud with AJ Lee, Kane, CM Punk, amongst others, which ultimately landed himself in an odd, but delightfully entertaining, pairing with Kane for the Tag Team Championships, to which Bryan and Kane still hold going into this match together. What is absolutely intriguing to me, is that Kane is one of Daniel's opponents. How will this end up with the Elimination Chamber? Bryan has already shown his colors to Kane at the Royal Rumble by eliminating him then for his own benefit. Will he do the same to Kane, further inciting this tension and possible break-up of an interesting tag team? And being on the same topic, Kane goes the opposite way in my mind, as he is in the Chamber and not facing SuperCena, and if Kane pulls off a victory here at the EC (highly doubtful), will he dump Bryan? Or does Bryan convince Kane to be a "dual-holder" of the World Title, a la Layla and Michelle McCool with the Diva's Title?

Chris Jericho

Jericho is the favorite in this match, and the one with the most appearances in the Chamber (seven). With only one victory, and ten eliminations, I'd be hard pressed not to pick Jericho as the winner for this one. But there are other superstars who want the World Title, and with Jericho doing his side dealings with Fozzy and dancing with stars and destroying robots, his want (or need), isn't as great as the other men involved in the WHC contender's match. That is why I chose Mark Henry to go on with the win. Since last year, Jericho was in last years' Chamber, and he returns this year to increase his record at the Chamber. As I have said with the other superstars, I don't think the ones that are returning to take a win, but I feel Jericho will, or come very close. On top of what could build for a Ziggy Wrestlemania Moment.

The Rock

This is a superstar has paid his dues. Dwayne Johnson, even though as I have said before that his sporadic appearances are good for business, he HAS conquered everything that he needs to do. The Rock is in amazing shape for his age; has performed in countless movies; has been champion numerous times from Intercontinental to Tag Team, to World, and the WWE Champion; The Rock has NO NEED to be around in the WWE as a performer. Such as last year. Even though The Rock had some spats throughout the year of 2011/12 with John Cena, he was a part timer that drew BIG for the WWE, and that's how he's being used. Vince knows that The Rock has massive drawing power, and by having the Rock as champion, and having him showcase the WWE Title in his movie outings gives more exposure to the organization. So, the Rock was no where near a WWE ring one year ago, and most likely laughed at an appearance at the Elimination Chamber. Now, being WWE Champion, his schedule requires him to show his face a little more than four times a year (I'm guessing, so don't crucify me), and he is required to show at the Elimination Chamber this year to face CM Punk. I like this pairing when it first left the ground around the Royal Rumble. It was fresh, and it wasn't something washed out and repeated. Granted, this is great to see The Rock in a WWE ring, and the WWE needs charisma such as his, and the drawing power for it. And with CM Punk, these are two great performers that will pull off a spectaular match. My prediction still stands. The Rock will go onto Wrestlemania to face John Cena.

CM Punk

Where was CM Punk at this time last year? HE WAS WWE CHAMPION!! It's been a short time removed of his position on the throne of the WWE Universe, and for 434 days, he was on top. No one could touch him, until the Rock decided to rear his face in the title picture, and Vince snatched the belt off of Punk. But Punk is a class act, and a workhorse. Punk knows that the Rock will leave and go away back to Hollywood. But for 434 days straight, unheard of for a WWE Champion not named John Cena for quite some time. The last superstar to even come close to such a record (outside of John Cena's own record of 380 days) was Randy Savage back in February 1988 with a stretch of 371 days! John Cena and CM Punk are the only individuals in twenty-five years that have held the WWE title over a year's time. And at Elimination Chamber last year, CM Punk retained his title in the Chamber. CM Punk now walks into the Elimination Chamber PPV one-on-one with The Rock for a rematch from the Royal Rumble. Punk will lose. But, rumor has it that if, and only if, the Undertaker has the gumption to make it to Wrestlemania this year, CM Punk will have his opportunity to take on the Streak. Having the title for so long, having Paul Heyman draw so much heat, I see Punk going a long way into 2013.

Elimination Chamber is tomorrow. With comparisons between last year and this year, there are newer faces who have made a strong impact so early in their careers, and many have made a jump . If utilized the right way, the old will pass the torch to the new, and bring a new generation beyond the conservative era that Linda McMahon imposed on the WWE. 2013 is a new year. Let us hope that the Road to Wrestlemania leads the way to excitement!

WWE Championship -- The Rock (C) VS CM Punk

With the Elimination Chamber less than a week away, the WWE has the PPV card built, and of course there will be a little bit of tweaks from now 'til Sunday. The Rock will put his title on the line in a rematch against CM Punk (and a smiling Paul Heyman in his corner) with the edge running against the eight-time WWE champion. If The Rock is counted out, or disqualified, he will lose the belt, going against typical one-fall rules, of course. With Heyman instilling this rule to Vickie Guererro (and on speakerphone, Vince McMahon), this will most definitely be put into play, most likely keeping The Rock within the means of countout. I believe that this will mirror the "screw-job" Punk and Heyman have been mouthing off about, to ensure that the Rock does not walk into Wrestlemania. Unfortunately, it is slated in the cards (and most likely in the Rock's contract) that Punk will lose and the Rock will headline Wrestlemania with John Cena for a second time.

TWS Prediction: The Rock defeats CM Punk with the Rock Bottom.


Diva's Championship -- Kaitlyn (C) VS Tamina

Even though much thought shouldn't go into this particular match-up, and I try to give every match some credibility, but I cannot see this championship match, or any match-up in the future, any where near the caliber of Diva's/Women's wrestling as it was in the early 2000's with Trish Stratus, Lita, Victoria, and Jacqueline  These women could have been legitimate cross-over Intercontinental champions, and that's what I would like to see with today's women wrestlers; to make a legitmate "Diva", package them as tough women, but equally sexy, who could possibly take out a male cruiserweight. But I digress; this isn't about the legitimacy of the Diva's Championship--it is about the match between Kaitlyn and Tamina. Honestly, I will most likely be using the restroom with this in mind, as there is zero drawing potential. Put the title on Natalya, bring Eddie Guerrero's daughter in and team her with Vickie, and make this division a serious one.

TWS Prediction: No interest in this whatsoever, but Kaitlyn should walk away the winner in this one.


World Heavyweight Championship -- Alberto Del Rio (C) VS Big Show

This feud has cultivated for some time between both these gentlemen, putting on such biblical proportions such as David VS Goliath. This also brings to mind the juvenile antics of the late Eddie Guerrero on, surprisingly enough, the Big Show back in 2003, but with a little more class, so to speak. However, after Elimination Chamber, this feud should be put to rest, so ADR can focus on his match at Wrestlemania. I don't think the WWE will put the strap back on Big Show as from what I see, they're going a different way for a transitional champion for the World Heavyweight title. Alberto Del Rio will go on to headline Wrestlemania, but I foresee he will drop it at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Of course, I can also be very wrong. But if Wrestling 101 has taught me anything, it's all a matter of predictability.

Unites States Championship -- Antonio Cesaro (C) VS The Miz

Ric Flair has to be involved in this in some capacity. The Miz has begun to open up his play book to using many of Flair's arsenal, taking the Nature Boy's very own Figure-4 and using it in his repertoire of moves. A rub from Flair will assist Miz in his poor face turn, and might help him establish himself outside of his whiny endeavors to succeed as a good guy. Although the WWE has tried to have Miz work Cesaro before for the US Championship, I don't think the Miz is the American that will take the title from him. If Flair is involved, then that may turn into a possibility.

TWS Prediction: I'm feeling Antonio Cesaro retains. 


The Shield VS John Cena/Ryback/Sheamus

Does the Shield make a legitimate stand, pull off a win, and prove to the WWE Universe that these young gentlemen can fight off the best of the best? The Shield has been hyped up for a while now, and with this being their second official match-up... what will we see? As Cena and Sheamus don't have anything to do until Wrestlemania (well, Cena anyway), they have been thrusted into this storyline to which The Shield claims Cena is the "injustice" in the WWE that they are trying to correct. What I don't understand is, why the other attacks on other superstars, such as Orton, Ryback, and Sheamus? If Cena is the problem, the "injustice", then all of the other superstars have no place in the attacks. The Shield should have named certain wrestlers and stated their injustices, or just kept their intentions hidden.

In any event, to protect Cena and make sure that he doesn't get hurt on his Road to Wrestlemania, I see The Shield putting Sheamus on the shelf for the time being (as he has nothing in the events up until Wrestlemania), Ryback will move on with the Shield in some capacity, and Cena going to Wrestlemania relatively unscathed. Much chaos will ensue, but the Shield will walk away with their arms raised.

Elimination Chamber Match for the #1 Contender Spot for the

Elimination Chamber Match: #1 Contender for the WHC -- Randy Orton VS Daniel Dryan VS Kane VS Chris Jericho VS Mark Henry VS Jack Swagger

THIS is the match I am interested in seeing, and how it will play out. With so many new elements put into play into the Wold Title picture, I hope that this match steals the show at Elimination Chamber. Why? There are so many elements brewing in one kettle that can make this and the aftermath of the World Heavyweight Championship going into Wrestlemania so compelling that SmackDown may be a show I look forward to tune in to.

Daniel Bryan and Kane
As current Tag team champions, both Kane and Daniel Bryan will go against each other in the Elimination Chamber. Not favorites to win the match, both members of Team Hell No have had their quarrels recently, and may continue to do so within the chain walls of the Elimination Chamber. Yet, they have held the titles for some time (a little under five months), therefore, they may happen to team up and eliminate other competitors that serve a bigger threat, and ultimately eliminate one or the other (I see Bryan taking the opportunity to putting away Kane in some sneaky capacity). This is one element that may serve a higher purpose and a bit of intrigue to see what happens between the two. Dissension or unity? Either way, I highly doubt either man will walk away the winner, as I see a potential break up of an odd pairing.

Chris Jericho
Recently returning and doing a spectacular job at the Royal Rumble, Jericho has been on a successful run this time around unlike last time with Dolph Ziggler, and my money is on Jericho winning the Elimination Chamber. His experience is unrivaled and unparalleled with seven appearances, and ten eliminations in the chamber. Came really close to winning the Rumble; why not give him the opportunity once again to run for the gold... for about five minutes? Wait... five minutes?! Simple... I foresee Jericho winning again at Wrestlemania just to have Ziggler cash in his chance and defeat Jericho at Wrestlemania, setting up another storyline for Jericho to work, and send him out gracefully, passing the torch the correct way. Although I wouldn't mind seeing Jericho take one last run with the WHC winning at Wrestlemania and Ziggler cashing in, losing, and winning the belt legitimately at Extreme Rules or a future PPV.

Jack Swagger
A man that has absolutely no business in this match. I say this because he should have been connected to the United States Championship feud that the Miz is involved in with Antonio Cesaro. Cesaro has been running his mouth claiming that "no American" has been able to defeat him. The All-American American, Jack Swagger, could be the potential American who could have done so, with a perfectly placed face turn-slash-Kurt Angle rip. Again, I'm getting off topic here. Swagger's intentions are ill-fitting, and he won't make it past the third elimination.

Mark Henry
A little of a wild card here, Henry has returned to bring pain. I really can't say that he will be successful, but that does happen to depend on his chances on what time he enters the match. I haven't seen Henry carry a long-winded match in a long time, but a clean win over Randy Orton this past Monday shows that maybe Vince and Creative are willing to put the strap on Henry again, and keep him as an unstoppable force to be reckoned with. I'm unsure of the outcome with Henry in it, but I'm pretty sure that he will get one or two eliminations before he is through. Mark Henry is a toss-up.

Randy Orton
The Viper is stuck between jobs, so-to-speak. Orton hasn't had a legitimate feud (outside of random matches and attacks from the Shield) for quite some time. Placing him in this match without any build-up may be cost-effective for Orton and the WWE. Then again, it may be enough to start a feud with Alberto Del Rio and turn Orton heel in the process. Dirt sheets stated that the WWE was hinting at a possible World Title Match between Orton and Sheamus at Wrestlemania, but with Sheamus busy with the Shield, and ADR still with his paws on the belt, it seems very unlikely. Another toss-up, but much less favorable than Mark Henry walking out of the EC with the title.

TWS Prediction: Many elements, but Chris Jericho or Mark Henry takes the contender's spot.


All in all, this PPV card for the Elimination Chamber looks promising as the go-home pay-per-view for Wrestlemania. With the common element of the Undertaker still missing, along with one or two major focus points, there is some time to build for WWE's twenty-ninth spectacular. Let's hope the Elimination Chamber does not disappoint!
